UP BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar In Trouble: Party Issues Show Cause Notice Over Alleged Indiscipline
BJP issues show cause notice to UP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar for alleged indiscipline and anti-party remarks.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary has issued a show cause notice to party MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar for alleged indiscipline following his outburst against the state government. Gurjar has been asked to respond within seven days on why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for his anti-party remarks. The show cause notice states that Gurjar has been criticising the government in public places, hurting the party's reputation, which comes under the category of indiscipline.
In the notice issued by the BJP Uttar Pradesh President, it has been mentioned that the show cause notice was issued on the instructions from the BJP national president JP Nadda. The notice states, "As per the instructions of BJP's national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, you (Gurjar) are informed to give an explanation within seven days of receiving this letter why disciplinary action should not be taken against you?".
Gurjar's outburst came during a press conference on Friday, where he alleged that Uttar Pradesh has the "most corrupt government ever". He claimed that officers were misleading Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and looting the exchequer. Gurjar also attended the press conference in a torn kurta, claiming that the police had torn his clothes.
Furthermore, Gurjar alleged that the chief secretary was controlling “Maharaj Ji (CM Yogi Adityanath)”. He stated, "The chief secretary is the most corrupt officer in the world. The officers have looted land in Ayodhya".
Samajwadi Party president and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav latched on to Gurjar's statements to attack the Adityanath government. Yadav said, “In BJP's rule, the BJP members themselves are revealing secrets about how injustice and corruption have spread everywhere.”
Meanwhile, the political experts believe that even though Gurjar has been given a period of seven days to reply to the show cause notice, his recent stance against the party and the party-led government in Uttar Pradesh appears to be far from being forgiven.
The BJP has taken a strong stance deeming the MLA's behaviour as indiscipline and it is to be seen, what action the party would take after 7 seven days of the show cause notice.
