New Delhi: Reading books continues to be one of the most effective ways to increase knowledge, sharpen thinking, and develop a deeper grip on the world. In a time dominated by short-form videos and instant updates, educators and experts emphasise that the habit of reading provides something other formats cannot, improving sustained attention, critical reasoning, and the capacity to engage with complicated ideas. Studies say that whether from classrooms or to boardrooms, regular readers are largely seen to perform better academically and professionally.

Reading plays a crucial role in building empathy and perspective beyond academic gains. Fiction allows readers to step into lives different from their own, while non-fiction offers insight into science, history, health and society. The exposure helps people move past surface-level opinions and make more considered choices in both personal and public life. The psychologists and educationists note that consistent readers often develop stronger communication skills and greater emotional intelligence.

It is therefore advised that making reading a daily practice is now being called essential rather than optional. Even 15 to 20 minutes a day can deliver long-term benefits for vocabulary, concentration and mental wellbeing. Nowadays, with growing concern over shrinking attention spans and information overload, schools, libraries and community groups are pushing to bring books back into everyday routines. The educators stress that a steady reading habit today helps shape a more informed and thoughtful society tomorrow.

Against this backdrop, Noida-based CRC Group has launched 'Let's Bring Back The Joy Of Reading', a global CSR initiative designed to inspire people to rediscover books and adopt reading as a lifelong habit. The company stated that the programme reflects the belief that lasting value goes beyond physical infrastructure to include knowledge, curiosity and stronger communities.

At a time when digital consumption is changing how people access information, the campaign looks to encourage people across generations to reconnect with books and experience their enduring value. At a time when children remain a key focus, the initiative is intended to reach students, families, teachers, and professionals, embedding reading as a meaningful part of daily life.

The initiative was launched in the presence of acclaimed actress, author, entrepreneur and social advocate Gul Panag, together with educators, authors, publishing professionals and thought leaders. All lauded and supported the value of reading as central to nurturing informed, creative and empathetic individuals.

The company's founder and CEO Kunal Bhalla said, "At CRC Group, we believe meaningful development goes beyond infrastructure. It is about creating opportunities that enrich lives and contribute to society in lasting ways. 'Let's Bring Back The Joy of Reading' is our effort to encourage people to reconnect with books, nurture curiosity, and embrace learning as a lifelong journey. We hope this initiative grows into a movement that inspires generations to discover new ideas, perspectives, and possibilities through reading."

Business Management & Marketing Director Salil Kumar said, "Deep Reading has the power to spark imagination, broaden perspectives, and build stronger communities. Through this initiative, we want to encourage people of all ages to make reading a meaningful part of their lives. Our vision is to create an ecosystem where books continue to inspire conversations, creativity, and lifelong learning." He added that the wisdom gained through deep reading is essential to bridge raw intelligence and practical action through self-reflection and open-mindedness.

Bollywood actress Gul Panag said, "Books have the remarkable ability to expand our thinking, deepen our understanding, and connect us across generations. In today's fast-paced world, rediscovering the joy of reading is more important than ever. I am delighted to be associated with an initiative that encourages people of all ages to reconnect with books and celebrate the simple yet transformative habit of reading."

As a long-term effort, 'Let's Bring Back The Joy Of Reading' will bring together diverse stakeholders to promote a culture where books remain a core source of learning, imagination and personal growth. Through the programme, the firm aims to strengthen meaningful engagement with reading and contribute to more informed, thoughtful and connected societies.

To take the campaign forward, the company will organise workshops across the globe in the first phase. In India, these will cover New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Indore and Hyderabad. Internationally, the sessions will be held in Dubai, Singapore, London, New York, Italy and Moscow. The workshops will be delivered with the support of renowned authors, publishers, celebrities and reputed educational institutions.
