Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma Shatters Chris Gayle's ODI Record, Registers Historic Feat Against Australia

Rohit Sharma has etched his name in the history books with another record to his name. India are currently taking on Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 final.

Rohit Registers Huge Record Against Australia

Rohit has surpassed Chris Gayle to become the batter with the most number of sixes in ICC ODI events. The 37-year-old has now launched 65 sixes while Chris Gayle is now second in the list with 64 sixes. Rohit achieved the feat in just 42 innings while Gayle took 51 innings.

Australia posted a formidable 264 runs on the board against India in the Champions Trophy final. Captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first. India struck pretty quickly as Cooper Connolly and Travid Head departed to the pavilion.
But It was Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne who forged a partnership to steady the ship.
