The right-handed batter led the Men in Blue's batting lineup while chasing the target of 265 runs in Dubai on March 4. He smashed 84 runs from 98 balls at a strike rate of 85.71 against the Aussies. The star batter masterminded the Men in Blue's four-wicket triumph over Australia on March 4.
The 36-year-old didn't hit a single six during his time on the crease but slammed five fours. However, he ended up losing his wicket against Adam Zampa. Kohli was also named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his extraordinary performance with the bat. His spirited knock has once again helped him rewrite the record books.

The 'Chase Master' has scored 746 runs from 17 matches at a strike rate of 89.44 in all of his Champions Trophy games. His knock against Australia helped him to leapfrog Mahela Jayawardene and become the second-highest run scorer in the Champions Trophy. The 36-year-old also shattered Shikhar Dhawan's feat of being India's leading run-getter in the tournament
The star Indian batter also achieved an unique feat during the India vs Australia semi-final by becoming the first cricketer to cross the 1000-run mark in ICC ODI knockouts. Currently, he has 1023 runs across all the ICC knockout games that he has played in his career so far.
Kohli also broke his idol Sachin Tendulkar's landmark as he recorded the highest numbers of fifty-plus scores in ICC ODI tournaments. The right-handed batter has 24 fifty-plus scores in ICC ODI tournaments, while Tendulkar had 23. The star Indian batter also registered the most singles in ODIs, he has taken 5868 single runs in the 50-over format. Former Sri Lanka great Kumar Sangakkara stands in the second place on the list with 5688 singles.

Currently, Kohli is the third-highest run-getter in the ongoing ICC tournament, with 217 runs from four matches at a strike rate of 83.14 and an average of 72.33. Only England's Ben Duckett (227) and Joe Root (225) stand ahead of him in the chart.
