Ahead of India's Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma's future has been the subject of a discussion. Alongside Virat Kohli, the Indian captain hung up his boots from the shortest format after the T20 World Cup triumph last year.

Rohit Sharma's Retirement Has Been A Burning Question

Rohit hasn't managed a big score in the tournament but the 37-year-old's no-nonsense approach has helped the Men In Blue to have a good start in almost every match.

Speculations have been pretty rife over his potential retirement from the limited over format. But Shubman Gill has brushed aside all the rumours. The Indian vice-captain insisted that no discussions have taken place about Rohit Sharma's retirement plans.

As quoted by the Hindustan Times he said, “All our discussions have been about winning the final and the title. The team and I have not been told anything about this decision.

“Rohit Bhai would not be thinking about it at the moment. I think once the match ends tomorrow, he will make a decision. There is no talk about it within the setup."

India Will Have A Tough Task To Cut Out Against New Zealand

India have remained unbeaten in the tournament so far having won all the four matches dominantly. But the Black Caps have shown incredible grit and hunger, setting their standards very high in the Champions Trophy this time, and it won't be a walk in the park for Rohit Sharma and Co. Varun Chakaravarthy had a great time against the Kiwis the last times these two sides met and the KKR spinner will once be at the helm of things as things stand. Virat Kohli has been in sublime form of late and his record in ICC knockouts speaks volumes about his greatness. The former Indian skipper has looked in great touch and he will headline the Indian batting lineup in this much anticipated summit clash in Dubai.
