ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Who Would Rohit Sharma-Led Team India Like to Face in Knockouts - South Africa or Australia?
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia have made the semi-final, but who plays who?
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: After South Africa beat England on Saturday, we knew our four semi-finalists of CT 2025. India, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa are the semi-finalists - but, who plays who is the question - that still remains undecided. In Group B, we already know that SA with two wins in three games have topped the group. Australia, who have won one game have gone through because of an extra point they got due to a washout game. The Steve Smith-led side finished second which means they play the Group A toppers. Now, who are the Group A toppers?
Who Are Group A Toppers?
Both India and New Zealand have won two in two. Yet, NZ are on top at the moment because of their better Net Run Rate. But that would only come into the equation if the match between India and New Zealand is called off due to rain or it ends in a tie, the possibility of which is extremely less. That means it is a straight shoot-out in Dubai for the top spot. Both sides have been in good form and have the side to counter the conditions. It promises to be a humdinger at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on March 2.
Team India Likely XI
As per reports, Team India could rest a couple of players ahead of the semi-final which would hurt the team's chances against the Kiwis. The Indian captain Rohit Sharma and premier pacer Mohammed Shami may be rested as per reoports for the clash. Both players picked up respective niggles during the game against arch-rivals Pakistan. Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh are in line as likely replacements.
Do you think India would beat New Zealand? At ICC events, NZ have historically had the wood over India. The Indian side would like to change that.
