Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have entered an elite list after India's Champions Trophy 2025 victory.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Register Unique Record
Both Rohit and Virat have now won four ICC titles and have now surpassed MS Dhoni, who has three ICC titles to his name, to become the most successful Indian players. Rohit now has lifted the T20 World Cup title and the Champions Trophy twice, both as a captain and as a player.
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting tops the list with five ICC titles. The list also has the likes of Adam Gilchrist, Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith who have won four titles each.
Rohit Sharma Brushed Aside Retirement Talks
The Indian captain also brushed aside all the retirement rumours confirming he is not hanging up his boots from the ODI format. In the post-match press conference he said, "I'm not going to retire from this format, just to make sure that no rumours are spread going forward."
Speculations were rife about Rohit's imminent future in the ODI format, but the 37-year-old is not ready to leave the game yet. Rohit also became the first Indian captain to win two ICC tournaments without losing a single match. India now has seven ICC titles in its cabinet, the second most after Australia.
Coming to the match, batting first, New Zealand posted 251 runs on the board courtesy of Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell's half centuries. Rohit Sharma led the Men In Blue to a brilliant start but the Blackcaps managed to keep themselves in the hunt by taking wickets at regular intervals.
But in the end, the quality of Indian players proved to be a major difference as the Men In Blue came on top to lift their second ICC title after a gap of eight months.
