ICC Champions Trophy 2025: When India lock horns with Australia on Tuesday in the CT 2025 semi-final in Dubai, spotlight would be on captain Rohit Sharma. He has been in the news for many reasons lately. While there are speculations over Rohit's future in ODIs, a Congress spokesperson has recently made an appalling statement on the Indian captain questioning his abilities as a leader. Now there is a feeling that Rohit, who has already retired from T20Is, may bring an end to his ODI career as well after the Champions Trophy 2025.

While that cannot be confirmed, Rohit knows he has to get runs to silence his critics. It is a semi-final game, which means it is a knockout. And if India lose the game they will not play the summit clash. This makes the Australia game make or break for Rohit.

Rohit is 37 and he is surely not getting any younger. Also, what does not work in his favour is the fitness. Rohit's fitness is surely nowhere close to Virat Kohli 's levels of fitness. And to make things worse for him, his form with the bat has not been upto the mark. All in all, one reckons his bat has to do the talking and India would have to win the game if Rohit wants to silence his critics.

Apart from a century he got against England in the second ODI at home, Rohit has not been living upto the standards he has set for himself. Also, one has to take into consideration the fact that young Yashasvi Jaiswal has shaped up well to take over.

What Are India's Chances vs Australia?

Given India's form and considering Australia is a depleted unit, Rohit and Co. would fancy their chances to win. Also what works in India favour is that they have played all their games in Dubai and have a better knowhow of conditions compared to Australia, who would be playing their first game in the country.
