IPL 2022 Orange Cap and Purple Cap list: Check updated list after GT vs DC match

The feisty battle for Orange and Purple cap in IPL 2022 has swung into full gear with the completion of 11 matches so far. Let's take a comprehensive look at the Orange cap and Purple cap holders' rankings in the Indian Premier League 2022 so far.

Rajasthan Royals continued their brilliant start to the IPL 2022 campaign as they defeated Mumbai Indians by 23 runs to go top of the points table. The contest which was played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai saw RR batting first and putting a huge total on the board courtesy of a fine century of opener Jos Buttler.  Cameo knocks from Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmayer ensured that RR got to 193 runs at the end of 20 overs.  

In the second match of the day, Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals and move to the third spot on the points table. Hardik Pandya and co-won the match by 14 runs to stay unbeaten in IPL 2022.  Batting first GT posted 171/6 with Shubman Gill scoring his first half-century of IPL 2022. The opener scored 84 runs, while skipper Hardik  Pandya scored was the next highest with 31 runs.  For Delhi Capitals, Mustafizur Rahman picked up 3 wickets. 

The list of highest run-getter in IPL 2022 changes following the doubleheader on Saturday. Ishan Kishan is the holder of orange cap following his half-century against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday. Royals opener Jos Buttler who scored a century takes the number two spot on the table. West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell is third on the list with  95 runs , while Faf du Plessis and Sanju Samson complete the top 5 list with 93 runs and  85 runs respectively.

Coming to the Purple cap, Umesh Yadav still holds the Purple Cap with 8 wickets to his name. Mohammad Shami and Yuzvendra CHhal also gained places after Saturday's matches. Chahal and Shami both have 5 wickets but the leg spinner takes the second spot, followed by Gujarat Titans pacer Shami.  KKR's Tim Southee and RCB's Wanindu Hasaranga also have five wickets and are placed fourth and fifth on the wicket-takers list.
