What did Mo Bobat say about Cameron Green?

Green's transfer to RCB was primarily motivated by Mumbai Indians' strategic decision to dedicate finances for the return of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who completed his two-year stay with Gujarat Titans. Green had previously joined the Mumbai-based franchise for a hefty price of INR 17.50 crore.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Bobat stated in an interview with RCB Bold Diaries that Green is a great match for their team, particularly as a power batter in the middle order. He showed confidence in Green's ability to bat at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Green played in 16 IPL 2023 matches, scoring 452 runs with an excellent average of 50.22 and a strike rate of 160.28. In addition, he had a century and two half-centuries the previous season. Bobat said:

He is the ideal fit for us in that middle-order power role. He is a high-quality, skillful and powerful batsman. He has got the game against both pace and spin. He has got international experience across formats and I am sure he will enjoy batting at the Chinnaswamy.

Bobat also said nice things about Green's skills, mentioning how good he was at bowling and catching. Green's ability to bowl with speed and bounce was praised, and it was emphasized that Green is a very good defender, especially in the gully position. In the previous season, Green showed how well he could do many things by taking 6 wickets in 16 games and making 5 fielding contributions.

He is also a fantastic bowler and he bowls with pace and bounce, which were certainly attributes we were looking for, particularly in our home conditions. Let us not forget what an exceptional fielder he is. Some of the catches he has taken in recent times fielding at gully is seriously impressive.

There was a big bidding war at the sale between MI and RCB. Green surprised everyone by moving from MI to RCB after a season. Reports say that MI talked to a few different teams about moving Green before deciding to go through with the trade with RCB.
