Mumbai Indians have confirmed the signing of West Indies all-rounder from LSG as they executed the trade option to boost their squad further ahead of IPL 2024.

Romario Shepherd has joined Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants, the franchise has confirmed. LSG bought Shepherd at his base price of 50 lakhs in the auction. The West Indian all-rounder will now be seen in the blue jersey in the IPL 2024 campaign.

Mumbai Indians bring in Romario Shepherd from LSG
A lanky bowling all-rounder Shepherd has the ability to pick wickets in important junctures while he has also contributed valiantly with the bat. The 28-year-old earlier played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and LSG and MI will be his third franchise. He is relatively new to the IPL scene, having played only four matches in total so far. The West Indian also amassed more than 100 wickets in T20 matches and could prove to be a shrewd addition for the five-time IPL champions.
IPL statement confirms Romario Sheperd's joining
A statement from the IPL further confirmed the development. It read, โRomario Shepherd traded to Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants. Romario Shepherd has been traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window ahead of the TATA IPL 2024. Shepherd, who has played 4 IPL matches, representing LSG and Sunrisers Hyderabad, was traded to MI for his existing fee of INR 50 Lakh.โ

Mumbai too officially welcomed the player through their social media handle.
Mumbai finished 4th in IPL 2023 and defeated LSG to get into the Eliminator 2. But Gujarat Titans were a no match for them as the Hardik Pandya-led side tamed them down and secured a place in the IPL final.
