Many speculated the 17th edition of IPL to be MS Dhoni's last dance, but there has been a deafening silence from the ex-CSK skipper over his immediate future and IPL plans. Dhoni has won 5 IPL trophies as the skipper of Chennai Super Kings.
Ruturaj Gaikwad's Special Innings On MS Dhoni's Birthday
Earlier this year, before the start of IPL 2024, MS Dhoni stepped away from the leadership duties of Chennai Super Kings and handed over the baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Chennai Super Kings were the defending champions of the title but could not qualify for the playoffs of the 17th edition. Ruturaj Gaikwad has already won two IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings (2021 & 2023). India are currently taking on Zimbabwe and something very strange happened in the match. The MS Dhoni Legacy
Former India and Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. His last appearance in the Indian colours came against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup. Since then MS Dhoni has only played for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL. MS Dhoni is the only captain in the history of cricket to win all the three ICC trophies (the T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup and the Champions Trophy). MS Dhoni also has 5 IPL titles to his name, the joint highest with his fellow compatriot Rohit Sharma who now has an ICC trophy to his name too.
