The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a full ticket refund for the washed out matches during the ongoing Champions Trophy . PCB has issued a statement confirming refunds will be issued for two matches which were abandoned without a ball being bowled. The South Africa vs Australia match was washed out due to persistent rain in Rawalpindi, while the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was also abandoned.

PCB Decided To Issue Full Refund For Washed Out Matches

A PCB statement read, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a full ticket refund for the two ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches that were abandoned without a ball being bowled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The affected matches include Australia vs South Africa on 25 February and Bangladesh vs Pakistan on 27 February.”

As per PCB's policy, tickets for the Afghanistan vs Australia match will not be refunded as the match was abandoned in the second innings when Australia were batting. Rawalpindi has faced severe criticism for its drainage facility. PCB spent a huge chunk of money to renovate three Champions Trophy venues. During the AFG vs AUS match, the match came to a halt due to persistent rain and the ground staff were seen using mops and sponges in order to make the ground playable. But despite their efforts, the match was called off and a point was shared between the two teams.

Security Breach Has Been A Concern In The Champions Trophy

Except for India's matches, the rest of the tournament is being held in Pakistan and the Men In Blue are playing their matches in Dubai. Security issues have also been a concern as a fan managed to sneak into the ground breaching the security cordons during the New Zealand vs Bangladesh game. PCB later assured that they will take a strict note of the incident and will further assess their security arrangements. But again, the same thing happened as a security breach occurred in Lahore during the Afghanistan and England game.
