Do you think the Rohit Sharma -led Team India is getting an undue advantage because they are playing all their Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai? That is exactly what England captain Jos Buttler hinted at during the pre-match presser ahead of the game versus Afghanistan. Buttler pointed out the travel that is involved because of the ‘hybrid’ model and that also makes India favourites. The jibe by Buttler was subtle as he called the situation ‘unique’.

'It's a unique tournament already' - Jos Buttler

“Not really. I think it's a unique tournament already, isn't it, with being hosted here with one team playing in a different place but that's not something I'm sort of worried too much about at the moment. I've got all my focus on preparing well tonight and our game tomorrow,” said Buttler in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Afghanistan game.

England Face Must-Win vs Afghanistan

Things have got tight for England after they lost their opener against Australia. They would now need to win both their remaining games to go through to the next round. Buttler's average in ICC ODI events is only 25.82 from 31 innings, with just four fifties and hence he would certainly hold the key to England's fortunes. Given the quality England possesses, they start overwhelming favourites against Afghanistan. But again, Afghanistan cannot be taken lightly as they have the capability of knocking doiwn big teams.
