Team India and Kerala wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson put out a congratulatory message for his domestic side after they advanced to the final of the Ranji Trophy. He also shared a moving message for the side and applauded their intent, saying they are just a step away from winning the coveted domestic title. The veteran was a part of Kerala Cricket in the Ranji Trophy during their initial matches in the ongoing 2024-25 season.
Sanju Samson Reacts After Kerala Secure Ranji Trophy Final Spot
Kerala Cricket had a dramatic morning as the team managed to do something they could not do since their debut in the Ranji Trophy cricket tournament. They have all but secured a spot in the Ranji Trophy Final after a dramatic fifth day at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be Kerala's first-ever appearance in the Ranji Trophy summit clash after they secured a two-run lead over Gujarat . Sixty-eight years after their debut in the domestic competition, Kerala soars to the summit clash. Sanju Samson was ecstatic to witness KCA's huge feat and expressed his thoughts on social media.
"Absolutely thrilled to see this happening... A DREAM we all believed together 10 years ago is just 1 step away boys!! Its ours, Go get it..." Sanju Samson wrote on the social media platform Instagram.
Kerala Set For Maiden Ranji Trophy Final Appearance Against Vidarbha
Kerala has a chance to make history after they have all but qualified for the Ranji Trophy final. They picked up a two-run lead over Gujarat before the match was drawn, and as per the rules, Kerala would advance due to the lead advantage.
The visiting side was resilient against Gujarat, who headed in the final day of action at 429/7 and needed just 29 runs to take a lead in their first innings. But Aditya Sarwate's composure crumbled Gujarat, who were bowled out at 455 and left them two runs short of the mark. Kerala eventually won the play on 1st Innings after the match ended in a draw. They will now lock horns against Vidarbha, a side that has been relentless throughout the season, on February 26th, 2025. The venue is yet to be confirmed.
