Shubman Gill Elevates His Brand Game With New Bat Deal With MRF, Follows Sachin Tendulkar & Virat Kohli's Path
At the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Shubman Gill's affiliation with CEAT Tyres came to an official end. The India opener now has MRF as his new bat sponsor.
Champions Trophy 2025: Team India opener Shubman Gill, the prince of Indian cricket, has elevated his brand game to the next level after he signed a new bat deal. The Indian opener has followed in the footsteps of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and the modern-day cricket great Virat Kohli to don the sticker of the prominent tyre brand MRF as his new bat sponsor. Gill debuted with the new sponsor in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where Team India is facing Australia in the semifinal.
Shubman Gill Follows Tendulkar & Kohli, Signs New Bat Deal With MRF
Shubman Gill has been associated with prominent tyre brand CEAT as his primary bat sponsor since his U-19 days, and he has donned the branding for quite a while. But that partnership officially ended at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and Gill has a new bat sponsor in MRF Tyres. Gill has joined an elite club of superstar players who have bagged themselves a deal with the tyre company. Notably, the ones who had MRF as their bat sponsor went on to become one of the greatest cricketers in the game, and it could be the beginning of something great for the India star.
Gill was seen practising with an MRF bat ahead of the India vs Australia Champions Trophy semifinal, signalling a fresh path towards a storied legacy. MRF also made the announcement official with a social media post, as they welcomed Shubman Gill as a new member of their family.
“MRF is delighted to welcome Shubman Gill to the MRF Family for a relationship that will endure like other Cricketing Greats who have been associated with MRF,” the tyre company posted on 'X'. (Formerly Twitter).
How Did Shubman Gill's Debut With MRF Go?
However, Shubman Gill's debut with MRF Tyres did not go well. The Indian opener scored just eight runs off 11 balls before being dismissed by Ben Bwarshius after he tossed a good-length ball. Gill could not judge the delivery, and it made its way towards the stumps. The opener did not have a lucky day with the bat, but he did manage to assist in the dismissal of Travis Head during Australia's innings.
Team India managed to limit Australia to 264 runs, it will be a challenging task for the Indian side when they make the chase.
