TERROR Threat Looms Large on ICC Champions Trophy 2025? Here's What Pakistan Minister Had to Say
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: From unprepared venues to the shock exit, things have gone from bad to worse for Pakistan as hosts.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: From unprepared venues to the shock exit, things have gone from bad to worse for Pakistan as hosts. Now with Pakistan out of the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final race, looks like the morale of the entire nation has dipped. First, policemen refused to perform their duties during the mega event and have duly been removed. Now, a fresh report confirms that there is a terror plot being hatched. It is reportedly believed that terrorists are trying to kidnap overseas players during the event. This news has of course created panic among the general mob.
But then, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar dismissed any such reports.
‘Pakistan is peacefully and very ably hosting the CT 25’
Speaking with GeoNews, he clarified, “I would like to state on record that Pakistan is peacefully and very ably hosting the ICC Champions Trophy. Our grounds are full, we have fans from all over the world, the crowds are jubilant, our streets are filled with people who are celebrating the victory of cricket.”
Over 100 Policemen Sacked For Neglecting CT Duties In PAK
Pakistan's accountability as hosts for events in the future has come under scrutiny after their preparations for the Champions Trophy have come under fire. Several security lapses have been flagged all over social media, which showed fans jumping into the stadium during the Tri-Nation series and a fan jumping the barricade and invading the pitch. After the lapses came to light, it was revealed that Pakistan's Punjab Police had taken strict action after several policemen refused to serve their duties during Champions Trophy matches.
Despite being eliminated, Pakistan still have one more group-stage match against Bangladesh. The hosts would certainly love to sign off on a high by beating Bangladesh.
