Virat Kohli to Become RCB Captain in IPL 2025?

Rumours have been rife that Virat Kohli is going to become the captain of RCB in IPL 2025. So, is it true, will Kohli accept captaincy in the twilight of his career? While nothing can be confirmed regarding this, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra is eager to see Kohli back as RCB captain. Claiming that Kohli has given feelers that he wants to become the captain, Chopra reckons if that happens - he would be more aggressive and on-the-face.

‘He has probably given feelers’

"What I am hearing is that Virat Kohli might become the captain because he has probably given feelers that he is open for leadership again. If that's the case, I am firstly happy with that itself, that he should become the captain. If he becomes the captain, we will get to see Virat's slightly aggressive, in-your-face avatar," he said on his YouTube channel.  

"I feel that may actually turn around how his time is going at the moment. There are more chances of that time changing, although, let's be fair, he wasn't the captain last year, but he scored a lot of runs. The Orange Cap was on his head only. However, they don't have a captain. So either they will go shopping for a captain or Virat will become the captain," Chopra added.

RCB Retained Players

At the Retention, RCB have held onto only three players and they are Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. They have a total of Rs 83 Cr still left. The RCB franchise has let off stars like Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell.
