Glenn Maxwell, the flamboyant Australian all-rounder, emerged as the star of the match by smashing a remarkable century in just 40 balls, with an astonishing strike rate of 240.90. Maxwell's century not only powered Australia to an imposing total but also etched his name in the record books as he scored the fastest century in the history of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. This incredible achievement surpassed the previous record held by Aiden Markram, who had achieved a similar feat in this very tournament and at the same venue just a few days prior.

Maxwell's remarkable innings also marked a personal milestone, as he surpassed his own record set during the 2015 edition of the World Cup, solidifying his status as one of the world's most explosive limited-overs batsmen.

Warner now stands alone as the opening batter with the most ODI hundreds, with a remarkable 22 centuries to his name.
