While appearing on a TV show in Pakistan, Hasan Raza alleged that India are using doctored balls in the ODI World Cup 2023 resulting in their victories by massive margins in all the games they have played thus far. He particularly mentioned Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami's name during the conversation.
"We've noticed that when India is batting, they perform well, but the ball starts behaving differently when India is bowling. There have been 7-8 close DRS calls that went in India's favor," Raza stated.
"The way Siraj and Shami were able to swing the ball, it appeared as if the ICC or BCCI were supplying them with suspicious and altered balls for the second innings. A thorough examination of the cricket ball is needed. It's possible that an additional layer of coating is applied to aid swing," he added.
Mohammed Shami expressed his strong disapproval of Raza's comments on Instagram, suggesting that Raza should feel ashamed of making such unfounded allegations. Shami also advised Raza to pay attention to the legendary Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram's remarks.
