It is a groundbreaking moment as a World Cup title has come home after a wait of over a decade. After being stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, Team India has finally reached their homeland as they landed in New Delhi, India, to begin their festivities. The entire 15-man squad was scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at his residence. PM Modi met with the whole contingent and shared his thoughts after meeting the Rohit Sharma-led Team India.

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi. The entire team, alongside BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah, were with the contingent as they wore their specially made jerseys. The whole team shared a laugh or two with the PM and posed for a group image with the coveted silverware. PM Narendra Modi also shared his thoughts on meeting the team over the social media platform X, where he hailed the team as champions and opened up on having a conversation about their experience throughout the tournament.

"An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament," PM Modin tweeted on X (Formerly Twitter).

After meeting the Prime Minister, Team India was supposed to jet off for Mumbai to take part in the bus parade throughout Mumbai and finally reach Wankhede Stadium. it will be the return of a historic moment for cricket fans as the last parade took place under MS Dhoni's captaincy. The Indian Cricket Team has already jetted off to reach Mumbai and will reach soon to take part in the other half of the festivities.
