In a major blow, England fast bowler Reece Topley has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup with a broken finger. The RCB fast bowler fractured his index finger in England's harrowing loss at the hand of South Africa in Mumbai. A replacement is yet to be named by the England Cricket Board.

Reece Topley ruled out of ICC Cricket World Cup

England's trouble seems to be piling on heavily. Following their underwhelming defence of the World Cup crown, the Three Lions have lost a crucial squad member. ECB issued a statement updating about Topley's current status. 

"England and Surrey seamer Reece Topley has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC Men’s World Cup after fracturing his left index finger during England’s defeat to South Africa on Saturday.

"Scans in Mumbai on Saturday, after the match at the Wankhede Stadium, revealed the full extent of the injury.  Topley will return to the UK in the next 24 hours.

"He will work closely with the England and Surrey medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation.

“A replacement will be announced in due course.”

It remains to be seen who could be Topley's replacement
