Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma aimed for a substantial total, and the opening pair reflected this intent on the field.

Shubman Gill slams a gigantic 95-metre six  

A standout moment occurred in the third over when Shubman Gill smashed a colossal six straight down the ground off Netherlands' Aryan Dutt, leaving even non-striker and captain Rohit Sharma in awe. The impressive shot drew smiles from both batsmen.

The 95-metre six travelled all the way to the M. Chinnaswamy stadium's roof. Shubman Gill scored a quickfire 51 off 32 balls before being dismissed by Paul van Meekeren in the 12th over. 

Despite the Netherlands being already eliminated from semi-final contention, India, with eight consecutive victories, sought to cap their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign with a ninth win in a stylish manner. Both teams fielded an unchanged XI for the match.

Thanks to fifties from the top three batters including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and centuries from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, India posted a mammoth 410/4 on the board. The Netherlands will now have to chase down 411 runs to win the match in Bengaluru.
