Marcus Stoinis attempts to tease Yashasvi Jaiswal following a terrible misunderstanding with Ruturaj Gaikwad
India got off to a great start in their T20I series against Australia. They won the first game at the YS Raja Sekhara Reddy Stadium in Vishakhapatnam by two wickets. As the Men in Blue tried to chase Australia's tough target of 209, they got off to a bad start when vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad got confused with opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal before he even faced a delivery.
The fifth ball of the first over was a slower bouncer that was hit to the leg side. This started a run. Unfortunately, Ruturaj Gaikwad got stuck in the middle of the field, which led to a run-out because wicketkeeper Matthew Wade quickly removed the bails.
When Gaikwad was out, Marcus Stoinis, who bowled the first over, appeared to be very amused and started laughing uncontrollably. While Stoinis was getting angry, Yashasvi Jaiswal stayed calm and decided not to react to the drama.
Jos Inglis' amazing 110 from 55 balls, which was his first T20I century, helped Australia set a challenging score of 208 in the first innings. Steve Smith also scored 59 runs, and it was the first time he had played as an opener for Australia in a T20I.
India made an amazing comeback, even though they lost their openers early on. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav put together a century-long combination. Before leaving, Kishan made 58 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav kept going with a fast 80 off 42 deliveries. Rinku Singh's quick 22 off 14 balls put the finishing touches on India's successful run chase, which is now their joint-highest successful run chase in T20Is.
What’s next for Team India?
The second Twenty20 International Series encounter between Suryakumar and his squad and Australia is scheduled for Sunday, November 26, 2023, in Kerala.
