'I think he's going to do it': UFC expert picks winner of the Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington fight

Dan Hardy thinks Leon Edwards will triumph over Colby Covington, but the Brit does not think his countryman will have it all his way. The last pay-per-view of the year- UFC 296- which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, will feature the main event fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington. Rocky enters the fight having defeated Kamaru Usman to retain his welterweight belt earlier this year, while Covington is making his first Octagon appearance since March 2022.

Dan Hardy predicts Leon Edwards to win the fight against Colby Covington at UFC 296

Edwards hopes to defend the championship for the second time in a row and increase his winning streak to thirteen. After losing to "The Nigerian Nightmare" twice in the past, Covington will have another go at the welterweight title with this fight against Rocky. 

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Dan Hardy made his prediction for the fight, which takes place on December 16 before their battle.

While 'The Outlaw' anticipates Leon Edwards to raise his hand at the conclusion of the fight, he fully anticipates Colby Covington to triumph early on. 

"I think Leon's going to do it, I think he'll defend his belt. It wouldn't surpised me if he loses the first two rounds. If he spends the first two rounds hand-fighting, clinch-fighting, and getting himself off the fence, eventually he'll start to land those short elbows and knees which will start to slow Colby down and make him hesitant to close the range."
