Bangladesh Protests: Dhaka Sees Rising Violence Ahead of Sheikh Hasina’s Verdict

Dhaka is witnessing intensifying unrest as Bangladesh braces for the landmark tribunal verdict against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Hours before the ruling, the capital has been shaken by crude bomb explosions, arson attacks, and violent street clashes. With the disbanded Awami League’s shutdown call triggering nationwide turmoil, the army, paramilitary forces, and police have been deployed across the city. Authorities have instructed security personnel to shoot violent protesters on sight.

Explosions near Grameen Bank offices, burning vehicles, and widespread destruction have further escalated tension. Hasina, who is being tried in absentia from India, faces the death penalty over charges related to alleged crimes against humanity.
