At least 16 people were hurt when a former pupil opened fire at a high school in southeast Turkey on Tuesday before he committed suicide, according to officials. Armed with a shotgun, the 18-year-old assailant allegedly fired randomly at a vocational high school in Siverek, Sanliurfa province, before taking cover inside the structure. According to Governor Hasan Sildak, he later committed suicide with the same weapon. Ten pupils, four professors, a canteen employee, and a police officer were among those hurt. Five people with more severe injuries were sent to a hospital in the regional capital, while the majority received local care in Siverek.
