'Canada Lives Because Of U.S.', Trump Humiliates PM Mark Carney At Davos Summit 2026

US President Donald Trump, in his address at Davos, said that Canada should be grateful to Washington because they get many "freebies" from the US. "Canada lives because of the United States," Trump said. “Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.”

His comments come a day after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's address wherein he criticised American "hegemony".

"Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way. They should also be grateful, but they're not. I saw your Prime Minister yesterday; he wasn't so grateful. They should be grateful to us," Trump said.
