Morocco Building Collapse Leaves 22 Dead as Survivors Demand Answers from Authorities
Two four-storey buildings collapsed overnight in Fez, Morocco, killing at least 22 people and injuring nearly 16 others. The cause remains unknown, though residents blame reckless construction practices. Back in May 2025, a similar collapse in another Fez neighbourhood killed nine people after a condemned building gave way.
In February 2024, five others died when strong winds and heavy rain destroyed a house in the old city. In January 2025, Housing Minister Adib Ben Ibrahim had warned that nearly 38,800 structures in Morocco were at risk of collapse. Watch the full video for more.
