‘We’re Ready To Fight’: Venezuela Warns War If US Attacks From Caribbean

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has warned the United States that his country is prepared to “declare a republic in arms” and wage war if U.S. forces strike from the Caribbean. His remarks come amid a major U.S. naval buildup in the southern Caribbean, including warships and a nuclear-powered submarine, which Washington says are deployed as part of an anti-drug trafficking operation against Latin American cartels.
