'Signs That Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Is Dead': Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei may no longer be alive. During a televised address, Netanyahu said there are “many signs” that Khamenei is no longer alive. However, there are no official confirmation from Iran over this.

"This morning we destroyed the compound of the tyrant Khamenei," Netanyahu said in a video statement.

"There are many signs that this tyrant is no longer. This morning we eliminated senior officials in the ayatollahs' regime, Revolutionary Guards commanders, senior figures in the nuclear program - and we will continue. In the next few days, we will hit thousands more targets of the terror regime," Netanyahu added.

Earlier in the day, explosions were reported at Khamenei's residence. Satellite images showed a thick plume of black smoke emanating from the Iranian leader's compound following the attack. Further, Khamenei's residence purportedly collapsed to the ground after the bombing. It is being reported that Khamenei's body was found in the rubbles of his compound.

Following the strike on his residence, Iranian officials claimed that Khamenei was shifted to a safe area before the attack. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that “as far as” he knows, Khamenei is still alive. However, these claims were later contradicted by US President Donald Trump, who said in a social media post that Iran supremo has indeed been killed.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said, “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.” Trump stated that Khamenei was unable to avoid US intelligence and their ”highly-sophisticated" tracking systems. He called the assassination of Khamenei a “justice for the people of Iran” and for all Americans and those people from countries, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his “gang of bloodthirsty thugs”.
