'For What Sin Was She Killed?': Iran After 165 Innocent Girls Laid To Rest In Little Graves After US-Israel Attack On School
Heartbreaking pictures have surfaced showing the battered schoolbags and little graves of innocent girl students killed at a school in Iran's Minab in US-Israel's joint airstrikes on Saturday.
Tehran: As many as 165 innocent school girls were laid to rest in little graves after being brutally massacred at an elementary school in Iran's Minab in the US-Israel joint airstrikes on Saturday. Condemning the killing of these “little angles”, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei shared a phrase from Islamic holy book Quran: “For what sin was she killed?”
Baqaei claimed that these innocent Iranian children were massacred in a “deliberate strike” on their school, solely to preoccupy Iran's armed forces with desperate search-and-rescue efforts at the educational facility. "This allowed the aggressors to strike military targets with greater ease and impunity. Calling this a mere "war crime" falls tragically short of capturing the sheer wickedness and depravity of such an atrocity," he added.
He stated that the precious lives of these children were cruelly cut short by genocidal murderers.
Horrific Attack
Elementary school ‘Shajareye Tayabeh', located in the Hormozgan Province, suffered extensive damage following the attack. Visuals from the scene showed bodies of little girls lying on the ground. People were also seen recovering children's schoolbags from the rubbles as blocks on concrete lying on desks and benches narrated a terrifying story of the horrors the children went through.
Before-and-after pictures showed schoolgirls sitting in rows in their classroom, followed by photos of children lying dead on the ground, covered in blood and dust.
Tiny Graves Dug Up
Following the untimely demise of the girls, tiny graves were dug up for them, a picture of which is being widely shared online, evoking strong response from people. "This is absolutely devastating. Children going to school should never be targets," a netizen wrote.
Another commented, "The fact that we're seeing mass graves for children in 2025 is incomprehensible."
‘We'd Never Deliberately Target School’: US
When confronted about the loss of innocent lives at the Minab school, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “The United States would not deliberately target a school. Our objectives are missiles, both the ability to manufacture them and the ability to launch them, and the one-way attack drones. That would be our focus, and that’s what we would be focused on. We would have no interest, and frankly no incentive, to target civilian infrastructure.”
He added that Iran, on the other hand are deliberately targeting civilians. “They’re hitting hotels. They’re hitting embassies. They’re hitting airports. They’re hitting oil infrastructure. They are a terroristic regime. They sponsor terrorism and they participate in terrorism,” he added.
