President Trump’s Frist Cabinet Meeting Starts With a Prayer | WATCH

New Delhi: President Donald Trump , alongside billionaire Elon Musk, held the first cabinet meeting of his new administration on Wednesday. The meeting began with Urban Development, Scott Turner chanting a prayer on President Trump’s queue.  

“Giving the opening prayer at President Trump’s first cabinet meeting was the honor of a lifetime,” Turner later tweeted. 

“Thank you, @POTUS, for trusting me to lead @HUDgov and for giving me the opportunity to lift up Americans across the country.”

Trump invited tech billionaire Musk to speak first at a cabinet meeting. Trump reaffirmed his commitment to balancing the budget, stating, “One of the things I was elected to do was balance the budgets and get our budget back into shape.”

Introducing Musk, Trump acknowledged the entrepreneur's sacrifices, remarking, "He's sacrificing a lot... and getting a lot of praise, but he's also getting hit." Musk, stepping up to speak, emphasized the urgency of tackling the deficit, warning, “We simply cannot sustain it. If this continues, the country will become de facto bankrupt. It's not an optional thing, it's an essential thing.”

The meeting also served as a platform for Trump and Musk to show unity, countering media speculation about potential tensions between the two. Despite reports of Musk's growing influence, both men demonstrated alignment on key economic issues. Musk humorously referred to himself as "humble tech support," prompting laughter from Trump and cabinet members.

Trump, keen to involve Musk in the discussion, allowed reporters to ask him questions, despite Musk not holding an official cabinet position. Trump also teased Musk, saying, "Is anybody unhappy with Elon? If you are, we will throw you out of here," which was met with applause from the room.

Musk Praises Cabinet

When asked about Trump’s earlier post on Truth Social, which claimed the entire cabinet was "extremely happy" with Musk’s work, Trump joked, "Elon, let the cabinet speak just for a second," drawing laughter from the room. Musk, in turn, praised the cabinet, calling it “the best cabinet ever, literally.”

During the meeting, Musk also addressed past policy missteps, notably mentioning an error related to Ebola prevention. "Doge will certainly make mistakes as we proceed, but when we make mistakes, we'll fix it very quickly," Musk said. He explained an incident at USAID where Ebola prevention efforts were briefly canceled but were quickly restored, ensuring no disruption.

Trump and Musk Present a Unified Front

The meeting concluded with Trump and Musk reinforcing their partnership and mutual respect. As Trump publicly backed Musk’s involvement in economic discussions, Musk voiced his support for the administration’s efforts, sending a clear message of unity and cooperation moving forward.
