IPL 2025: The eighteenth season of the Indian Premier League is gradually coming to a close. Five teams have been eliminated, and two of them are still in contention to grab the final playoff spot. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been eliminated so far. Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Gujarat Titans (GT) have reached the playoffs, whereas Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns with each other to seal their spot in the playoffs.
Before IPL 2025 was halted for a few days, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata was bestowed with the opportunity to host the finals, but as per a report in Cricbuzz, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to announce the Narendra Modi Stadium as the host of the summit clash of the cash-rich league.
Reports suggest that the decision was taken during a series of meetings that involved the stakeholders of the BCCI. As per Cricbuzz's report, Qualifier 1 and Eliminator could be played in Mullanpur on May 29 and May 30, respectively. It is being said that the reason behind the BCCI's decision is the weather conditions, as rain has slowly started to take effect in the country.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had decided to suspend the IPL after tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. Upon resumption, the first match was played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which was washed out due to bad weather and persistent rains in Bengaluru. A total of thirteen games are to be played in the ongoing edition of the IPL: nine league games, two qualifiers, one eliminator, and one final.
