The BCCI will be covered under the National Sports Governance Bill. As per Sports Ministry sources, the Sports Bill will be introduced in the Parliament on Wednesday by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
BCCI will be classified as a National Sports federation under the National Sports Bill. BCCI has been an autonomous body, and this is the first time it will be covered under the sports bill. As the Indian Cricket team is all set to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, something on these lines was anticipated long back. BCCI happened to be the only major sports body which wasn't mandated to follow the government guidelines.
Roger Binny's future could also hinge on the National Sports Bill. As per the BCCI's constitution, approved by the Supreme Court, a person cannot hold a post after he turns 70. But as per the bill, the age limit of all National Sports Federations will be increased to 75 from 70.

How The National Sports Bill Will Work
The Bill also has a proposition for the formation of a National Sports Tribunal, which will serve as the point of contact for all conflicts in sports, and its verdict can only be challenged in the Supreme Court. The sports bill will also pay attention to the athletes, and all major sports bodies will have to set up an Athletes’ Committee. This committee will help in solving all the agendas of the athletes.
All the sports bodies will also be required to form an Executive Committee and to ensure female participation, at least four women members have to be included in the committee. The bill will also authorise the setup of a National Sports Board, which will take a call in case a major sports body loses its recognition or to suspend any federation.
