Deepti Sharma Becomes Second Most Expensive Indian Player In WPL, UP Warriorz Ropes In World Cup Winner By Using RTM Card

UP Warriorz roped in Deepti Sharma by using the RTM card on the Delhi Capitals, at the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega-auction.

Women's Premier League: Star all-rounder Deepti Sharma became the second most expensive Indian player in the history of the Women's Premier League (WPL). During the ongoing WPL 2026 mega-auction, UP Warriorz roped in Deepti Sharma for a whopping amount of Rs 3.2 crore.

UP Warriorz Beat Delhi Capitals To Clinch Deepti Sharma

Delhi Capitals made the opening bid of Rs 50 lakh. However, UP Warriorz used the RTM and raised the World Cup Winner's price to Rs 3.2 crore. Capitals rejected the offer, and the UP-based franchise successfully secured Deepti Sharma.

With the whopping amount of Rs. 3.20 Crore, Deepti Sharma became the second most Indian player in the WPL history. Earlier, the Indian all-rounder only held the second spot with Rs. 2.60 crore in the 2023 auction.

In the recently concluded Women's World Cup 2025, Deepti Sharma displayed a stunning performance and was named the 'Player of the Tournament'. Deepti was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 22 scalps from nine matches at a bowling average of 20.41. The 28-year-old claimed one four-wicket haul and five-fer in the prestigious ICC event.

Deepti Sharma also displayed a staggering performance with the bat, scoring 215 runs from nine matches and seven innings, at an average of 30.71 and a strike rate of 90.33. He scored three half-centuries in the ICC event.

In the final match of the Women's World Cup 2025, Deepti Sharma played a 58-run knock from 58 balls at a strike rate of 100.00, hammering three fours and one six. In the second innings, the 28-year-old claimed five wickets in her 9.3-over spell at an economy rate of 4.10, giving 39 runs.

India clinched a historic 52-run win over South Africa in the summit clash of the Women's World Cup 2025, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, on November 2.

Deepti Sharma's Numbers In T20Is

Deepti Sharma made her T20I debut for Team India in 2016 against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. She played 129 matches and 81 innings, scoring 1100 runs at an average of 23.4 and a strike rate of 104.27. On the other hand, she claimed 147 wickets from 126 innings at an economy rate of 6.12 and a bowling average of 18.98.

From the very first seasons of the Women's Premier League, Deepti Sharma has represented the UP Warriorz. She has played 25 WPL matches and 24 innings, scoring 507 runs at an average of 28.16 and a strike rate of 117.63. Deepti also claimed 27 wickets from 25 WPL innings, at an economy rate of 8.29 and a bowling average of 29.29.
