Punjab Kings' Playoff Hopes Dented As Two-Time World Cup Winning All-Rounder Glenn Maxwell Ruled Out Of IPL 2025

Punjab Kings have been in fine form in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League and are very close to getting into the playoffs for this season. Punjab Kings who are led by batter Shreyas Iyer, are currently sitting in second in the IPL points table. Punjab Kings are only one point behind RCB who are currently at the top of the table. Punjab Kings in their IPL 2025 match on 30th April 2025 defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets. Following the match, PBKS were dealt with a massive blow as their star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of IPL 2025. 

Glenn Maxwell Ruled Out Of IPL 2025 

Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of IPL 2025 as he has suffered a fractured finger. Punjab Kings also confirmed the injury and Glenn Maxwell being ruled out of IPL 2025 via a post on social media platform X. In the post Punjab Kings also wished Glenn Maxwell a speedy recovery. 

“Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the remainder of the season due to a finger injury. We wish him a speedy recovery,” said Punjab Kings in their social media post about Glenn Maxwell. Glenn Maxwell had gotten injured before the match against Chennai Super Kings and was also absent from the playing XI in the match against Chennai Super Kings.

Glenn Maxwell's Disappointing Season With The Bat Comes To An End 

Glenn Maxwell has had a disappointing season with the bat in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. In seven matches, Glenn Maxwell has only managed to score 48 runs for his team which has gotten him under massive scrutiny from fans and cricket pundits. 

As for his bowling stats, Glenn Maxwell in seven matches has taken four wickets with an economy of 8.46.
