T20 World Cup 2026: Allrounder Hardik Pandya had a night to remember at the Arun Jaitley stadium on Thursday night during a T20 World Cup game against Namibia. Not only did he come good with the bat as he hit a quickfire 28-ball 52, but he also chipped in with the ball - picking up two wickets. His allround show was rewarded as he got the Player of the Match.

There is little to no doubt that Hardik's popularity is increasing everyday and on Thursday fans got to witness it first hand. A Hardik fan breached security to get close to his idol. He got close to Hardik before the security intervened and took him away from the ground.

Meanwhile, Hardik confessed that he is enjoying the game and the body feels good. He also said that batting is close to his heart and he feels good whenever he contributes with the bat.

"Yeah, definitely, just enjoying the sport. Had a good couple of months to prepare and, you know, get the rhythm and, you know, get the body right. Touchwood everything is going well," Hardik said at the post-match presentation.

‘Always taken pride in my batting’

"Yes, I've always taken pride in my batting as an all-rounder. So whenever I get an opportunity, I make sure that both the skills are managed rightly. And yeah, I always mention it quite earlier as well that batting is always close to my heart. And when that comes, it's a, you know, it even adds more sugar to the cake," he added.

India is on a winning spree, having won both their games. They are now well-oiled and ready for the big-ticket game against Pakistan.
