NBA India Games: Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, others light up event

Several Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra came out to join the sporting action on the second and final day of NBA India Games event in Mumbai on Saturday.

The NBA is being lapped up in a big way by India. As the popular basketball tournament came to India for the first time, like every other major event, Bollywood presence was a given, and the stars lived up to the expectations. Even before the tournament started, the flow of celebrities from the film industry has been constant. As the two-day event geared up for a grand finish on Saturday, there was more star power on the red carpet, with Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, and many others came in attendance.

NBA in India

The Indian Pacers and Sacramento Kings played a nail-biting encounter on Friday, with the scores being tied at 118 after full time. The Pacers, however, eventually managed to beat the Kings 132-131 at the end. The matches are a part of a pre-season tour of the two teams. Naturally, another edge-of-the-seat thriller seems to be on the cards on Saturday as they face-off once again.  

And to witness it, there were several stars. 

Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra 

Cousins Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra came out together for the event, looking their stylish best. 

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar 

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are big sports lovers. While the latter had attained popularity hosting the Indian Premier League, even Farhan is a sports fan; the couple had even seen the Champions League final and the Cricket World Cup together recently.

Guru Randhawa 

Guru Randhawa was all smiles dressed in a suit. 

Kiren Rijiju

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju  was also spotted at the event.

Russell Peters 

Stand-up comedian Russell Peters, whose father was born in this city, lent international spotlight to the event.

Satnam Singh 

Satnam Singh is the first Indian basketball player to be drafted in the NBA when the Dallas Mavericks had picked him in 2015. 

Neetu Chandra 

Neetu Chandra dazzled in a black dress.

Tamaanaah Bhatia 

Tamaanaah Bhatia, who is riding high on the success of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, was all smiles in a floral print short dress. 

Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi 

Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi smilingly pose for the cameras on the red carpet. 

Rannvijay Singh 

Rannvijay Singh arrived with wife Priyanka Vohra for the event.

Leander Paes 

Tennis legend Leander Paes was dressed in black.

On Friday, John Abraham, Malaika Arora, Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja, Rahul Bose and the Ambani family were present. 

A day before that, Priyanka Chopra, Anand Ahuja and other stars had attended a celebratory gathering before the start of the tournament.
