Malaika Arora's Father's Death: Malaika Arora's family is going through a tough personal time following the death of the actress' father - Anil Arora. As per reports, he jumped to his death from a three-storey building in Mumbai on September 11. Amid this, an old interview of the Chaiyya Chaiyya fame talking about her troubled childhood has resurfaced.

When Malaika Arora spoke about her troubled childhood

In a 2022 interview, Malaika Arora spoke about her parents' separation and how it impacted her childhood. She shared that her father Anil Arora and mother Joyce parted ways when she was all of 11 years old while her younger sister Amrita was six years old. She shared how the separation of her parents taught her important lessons. 

Speaking to Grazia India, the actress shared, “I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn't easy. In fact, in retrospect, the word I would use to describe it is tumultuous. But tough times teach you important lessons too."  She further explained how her parents' separation affected her. “I learned a rock-steady work ethic and the value of getting up each morning to do whatever it takes to become fiercely independent. Those early lessons are the cornerstones of my life and professional journey. I am still fiercely independent,” the actor said, adding that she has also learnt to value her freedom and live life on her terms.

How did Malaika Arora's father die?

Malaika Arora's father Anil Arora allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a building in Mumbai on Wednesday morning, a police official said. Anil Arora (65) allegedly jumped off the sixth floor of a building in the Bandra area at around 9 am, an official said. A team of Bandra police rushed to the spot and shifted him to a hospital, where he was declared dead before arrival, he said.

The exact reason behind the incident was not yet known, the official said, adding an investigation was underway. Police conducted 'panchnama' (inspection) of the spot and have started collecting evidence, he said. They also video recorded the building premises, where the body of Anil Arora was recovered, as part of the procedure, the official said. The police also examined CCTV footage of the building premises to ascertain details of the incident, he said. The postmortem process was underway at a hospital, the police said. Meanwhile, a source told PTI, "It's true that Malaika's father passed away this morning. He has not committed suicide, it's an accident. They all are shocked because he had no ailment or anything as such." Malaika Arora and her sister Amrita Arora Ladak did not respond to queries on the incident.
