Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma were officially granted divorce by a family court in Bandra on March 20, 2025. A day after the separation, Dhanashree made her appearance at an event in Mumbai, where she dodged the paps’ questions about her separation.
In the video shared by Varinder Chawla, a paparazzo can be heard asking about her divorce. The choreographer expressed her discomfort and made a hand gesture and refused to answer the question. She replied, “Gana Sunlo pehle”. When another paparazzo asked, “Gaane se match ho raha hai Rhoda bahut”. Dhanashree responded with a small thumbs up.

On March 20, T-Series released music video featuring Dhanashree Verma and Ishwak Singh. The song titled Dekha Ji Dekha Maine is sung by Jyoti Nooran. As soon as the video premiered netizens flooded the comment section with their views. One user wrote, “What a masterstroke by PR teams- Divorce finalised by the court and boom- the song drops on the same day! Talk about a PR masterstroke!”. Some speculated it reflected their personal story, especially since it was released on the day of the verdict. “Looks like both sides are just trying to justify themselves in public, one through a song, the other with a slogan.. But honestly, guys, it's better to keep it private. These things happen it’s not the first time, and definitely won’t be the last in this world. Wishing both of you all the best”, wrote the third user.
Rumours about Dhanashree and Yuzvendra’s divorce began after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram which sparked widespread speculation. Chahal and Dhanashree filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5. However on February 20, the family court refused to waive the mandatory six-month cooling off period. As per the petition, the couple had lived apart since June 2022, 18 months after marriage.
Yuzvendra will pay ₹4.75 crore to Dhanashree, out of which, he has already paid ₹2.37 crore, the family court noted. It also cited a report of a marriage counsellor, stating there was only partial compliance with the mediation efforts.
