Zubeen Garg's Death: New FIRs Filed Against Close Associates Sanjiv Narain and Sekhar Jyoti Goswami, Another Round of Autopsy Ordered by Assam CM

Fresh FIRs filed against Sanjiv Narain and Sekhar Jyoti Goswami in connection with the untimely demise of Zubeen Garg. A fresh round of autopsy has also been ordered by Assam CM to ensure no foul play.

As per reports, two new names have been added to the FIR following the death of Assam's iconic singer Zubeen Garg. The new FIR names close associates, Sanjiv Narain and Sekhar Jyoti Goswami, in the unfortunate demise of the singer. A fresh round of autopsy has also been ordered by Assam's CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to determine the cause of the death without ambiguity.

Zubeen Garg's death left a void in the music world. The singer, who is known for crooning Ya Ali, died in Singapore on September 19 after suffering complications during a scuba diving session. He was rushed to the hospital and admitted to intensive care. However, the doctors couldn't save the singer. Since the news broke, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has been keeping his fans updated on the arrival of his mortal remains in India. He also spoke to the High Commissioner of Singapore, Simon Wong, and requested a detailed enquiry into the circumstances leading to the untimely demise of the singer. Following this, he shared another update that multiple FIRs have been filed against the singer's manager, Siddharth Sarma and event manager Syamkanu Mahanta in connection to his death.

Taking to his X handle, Biswa wrote, "Multiple FIRs have been filed against Shri Syamkanu Mahanta and Shri Sidharth Sarma in connection with the unfortunate and untimely demise of our beloved Zubeen Garg. I have directed the @DGPAssamPolice to transfer all the FIRs to the CID and to register a consolidated case for a thorough investigation." For the unversed, Syamkanu Mahanta was the chief organiser of the Northeast Festival.

Assam CM to bring Zubeen Garg's mortal remains to Guwahati

In another thread, Biswa shared that he will be going to Delhi later today to receive Zubeen Garg's mortal remains from Singapore. From there, he will immediately bring him back to Guwahati by early Sunday. He has urged his fans in Assam not to be present outside his house as his family wants to mourn in private.

Meanwhile, Ravi Kota, Assam chief secretary, has announced state mourning from September 20 to September 22. "During this period, there will be no official entertainment, dinners, or ceremonial functions," read the X post.

Zubeen Garg was one of the celebrated singers of India, who has crooned hit tracks like Ya Ali, Kuch To Kahon, Mere Watan: Amaan's Fury, Dhire Dhire and Maahi Ve, among others.
