TMKOC: Palak Sindhwani To Quit Show After 5 Years As Makers Issue Notice Over Contract Breach
As per reports, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah production house has sent a legal notice to Palak Sindhwani aka 'Sonu Bhide' for breach of exclusive contract.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular sitcoms that has been running successfully since 2008. The show has a loyal fan base and every character has become a household name. However, in the past few months, the sitcom has run into several legal troubles. From Jennifer Mistry accusing the makers of harassment and non-payment of dues to Shailesh Lodha's controversial exit from the show, TMKOC has often made headlines Most recently, reports suggest that Palak Sindhwani, who plays 'Sonu Bhide' is facing legal issues for breaching her contract.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah makers issue notice to Palak Sidhwani
A few days ago, reports suggested that the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah production house might send a legal notice to Palak Sindhwani for breach of contract. Palak Sindhwani initially denied this, but a notification states that without getting written approval, as stipulated in her contract, Palak has participated in unapproved third-party endorsements and appearances which has breached her contract.
As per IANS, The makers have also stated that the integrity of the character and the series was compromised by these offences, which persisted despite numerous written and verbal warnings and violated the exclusivity contract they were forced to take official action as a strict consequence. The publication also reported that, “In its response, Palak intended that she would be exiting the show very soon, which would mark another exit of any actor or actress from such a long-running show.”
Other Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah controversies
Earlier, actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal aka ‘Roshan Sodi’ logged the complaint against producer Asit Modi, operations head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj, accusing them of inappropriate behaviour and making sexual advances. As per reports, Jennifer won the case, and Asit was ordered to pay her the remaining ₹5 lakh, along with clearing her outstanding dues.
Before Jennifer, actor Shailesh Lodha who portrayed the show's titular character, Taarak Mehta, accused the creators of withholding his full payment, leading to a legal dispute. In 2023, Shailesh won the case, and the makers were ordered to pay the remaining amount.
