17 Dead After Roadways Bus Hits Loader Vehicle In Hathras, PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia of Rs 2 Lakh
As many as 17 people have died and 11 injured after a max vehicle collided with a state roadways bus near Meetai village at Agra-Aligarh NH near Hathras.
Hathras: In a tragic road accident, as many as 17 people traveling in a loader vehicle have been killed after they collided with a state roadways bus near Meetai village at Agra-Aligarh National Highway in Hathras on Friday.
11 people are seriously injured. It has been reported that 30 people were traveling in max vehicle.
President Murmu Expresses Grief
“The news of the death of several people in a road accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured,” President Murmu posted on X.
PM Modi Expresses Grief
In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next kin of the deceased victims while injured will get Rs 50,000.
CM Yogi Adityanath Expresses Grief
On the horrific incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered condolences to the families of the victims and instructed officials to provide proper treatment to the injured.
“The loss of life in a road accident in Hathras district is extremely sad. My condolences are with the grieving families of the deceased. Instructions have been given to the district administration officials to provide proper treatment to the injured. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured,” CM Yogi posted on X.
Hathras DM, Ashish Kumar said that the cause of the accident was due to the overtaking.
"We have been informed about 12 deaths in the incidents. This incident happened on a highway. 16 injured people have been brought here, out of which 4 have been referred..." he said.
