Mumbai Traffic ALERT: Commuters Should Avoid Parel, Bhoiwada & Lalbaug Areas. Check Alternate Route

Mumbai: Commuters in Mumbai are advised to avoid the Parel, Bhoiwada and Lalbaug area in view of the Ganpati procession and Chintamani Ganpati Aagman today. Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters regarding the Ganesh festival festivities. “In view of Ganpati procession & Chintamani Aagman procession in & around Parel, Bhoiwada & Lalbaug area, commuters should avoid going to Lalbaug, Parel (via Dr. B.A.Road) & USE ALTERNATE ROUTE as Barrister Nath Pai, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road, N.M Joshi, Sane Guruji Marg,” Mumbai Traffic Police tweeted.
Ahead of the Chintamani Ganpati Aagman today, the Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory; check routes to avoid.
Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Chintamani Ganpati Aagman
The traffic advisory further said that the Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman Yatra is planned to begin at 2 pm today (Saturday). The Chintamani Ganpati, which has a special place for Mumbaikars, will be visited by thousands of people and this is why a traffic advisory has been issued. The advisory by Mumbai Traffic Police says, “A large crowd is expected to attend the procession, which may lead to traffic congestion on the said route, therefore to prevent obstruction and inconvenience to the public a traffic management order was being issued.”
Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Advisory: Check Routes To Avoid
To ensure that the Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman Yatra is organised smoothly, the Mumbai Traffic Police has listed a number of roads that may remain closed as and when required.
- Traffic on both sides of Dr. B.A. Road, to and from Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction) to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction).
- Traffic on both sides of Sane Guruji Marg- Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) to Saint Jagnade Maharaj Chowk (Gas company junction).
- Traffic on both sides of NM Joshi Marg- Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction) to Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction).
- Shingate Master Chowk to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction) route of Mahadev Palav Marg (Curry Road).

- Lalbaugh Flyover must be used by those going to Dadar from Dr BA Road.
- If you are on the Dr BA Road and are coming from north, follow the route - Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction), TB Kadam Marg, then a right turn, then to Datta Ram Lad Marg, Shravandada Yashwant Chowk, a left turn from there, GD Ambekar Marg, left turn, Shree Sai Baba Marg, Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharatmata Junction) and then a right turn from there.
- Vehicles coming from south of Dr. B.A. Road, must take a right turn at Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction), Currey Road Bridge, Shingate Master Chowk, a left turn, NM Joshi Road, Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction), Abdul Hamid Ansari Chowk (Khada Parsee) towards South Mumbai desire destination.
- Vehicles coming from south of Dr. BA Road shall take left turn at Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk, Bharat Mata Junction, Gijibhai Lane, Sadashiv Gopal Naik Chowk, Shree Sai Baba Marg, Sai Baba T Junction, a left turn, GD Ambekar Sleep Road, right turn, Veterinary College Gate, GD Ambekar Road, Ambewadi Naka, Shravan Yashwant Chowk, Barrister Nath Pai Road and P D'Mello Road towards South Mumbai.
- If you are travelling north from Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) on NM Joshi Marg, take route - Shingate Master Chowk, Delisle Road bridge and then NM Joshi road.
- South-bound vehicles on NM Joshi Marg from Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) must first go to Sane Guruji Marg, Satrasta Circle Keshavrao Khadye Marg, Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction) and S Bridge.
- North-bound vehicles on NM Joshi Marg from Byculla Railway Station to Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction) must use Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction) left turn, Keshavrao Khadye Marg, Satrasta Circle, Sane Guruji Marg and Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction).
- Vehicles going to Byculla Railway Station from Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction) on NM Joshi Marg, should take Sane Guruji Marg, Satrasta Circle, Keshavrao Khadye Marg and Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction) right turn.
- North-bound vehicles from NM Joshi Road must takeShingate Master Chowk, Delisle Road Bridge and NM Joshi Road.
