BMC Officials Put On Alert In Wake Of Red Alert Warning In Mumbai
In wake of Red Alert warning in Mumbai, the BMC has directed all the ACs to ensure that executive engineers from the wards stay back in the ward’s control room
Mumbai: In the wake of the Red Alert warning in Mumbai issued by the IMD, the BMC has directed all the assistant commissioners (ACs) to ensure that one of the executive engineers from the wards stays back in the ward’s control room to tackle any untoward situation. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the ACs, who will be in the control room to monitor the situation, will be in direct touch with the District Magistrate (DM) control room for further updates.
A senior official of the BMC stated that the Red Alert warning was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD)for the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Following this, the Mumbai civic body has been ensuring that the preparations are on the top to deal with any emergency situation. All the ACs have been requested to ensure that one Executive Engineer from the ward shall be asked to stay back in the ward control room.
Further, it has been directed that all the ward assistant commissioners will remain in touch with the DM control room for further updates. In any emergency situation or urgency, the ACs will attend their offices.
