AAP Claims CM Atishi's Belongings Thrown Out Of Official Bungalow; BJP Says 'Sheesh Mahal' Sealed
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was evicted from her official residence.
New Delhi: A day after moving in, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was evicted from her official residence at 6 Flagstaff road, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged on Wednesday. According to the Delhi Chief Minister's Office, Lt Governor Vinai Saxena ordered Atishi's belongings to be "forcibly removed" from the residence "at the behest of the BJP ."
"A team of PWD officials reached Delhi Chief Minister's residence, 6 Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines. Delhi LG got all the belongings of Chief Minister Atishi removed from the Chief Minister's residence", the Chief Minister's office (CMO) claimed.
As of now, the Lt Governor’s office has not responded to these claims made by the Chief Minister’s Office.
For the unversed, Atishi moved with her belongings to the bungalow in North Delhi's Civil Lines area on Monday. It was occupied for over nine years by Kejriwal who vacated it after resigning as chief minister.
Earlier in the day addressing a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the bungalow was yet to be allotted to Atishi and accused the BJP of trying to "usurp" the bungalow. He also claimed that a camp office of the chief minister present on the bungalow premises has been vacated. He charged that as the BJP has been unable to win assembly polls in Delhi, it is now trying to "usurp" the bungalow of Delhi chief minister. Showing documents, Singh claimed the bungalow was properly vacated by Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal 's 'Sheesh Mahal' Sealed
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that Arvind Kejriwal 's 'Sheesh Mahal' has been sealed, asserting that the bungalow conceals numerous secrets.
Speaking to reporters, Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva said, " Arvind Kejriwal 's 'Sheesh Mahal' has finally been sealed... What secrets are hidden in that bungalow that without handing over the keys to the concerned department, you were trying to enter the bungalow again? You created a good drama by taking your belongings in two small trucks. Everyone knows that the bungalow is still in your possession. The way you tried to hand over the bungalow to Atishi was unconstitutional. Atishi has already been allotted a bungalow then how can she take your bungalow? A lot of secrets are hidden in that bungalow..."
Delhi assembly leader of opposition Vijender Gupta said, “Finally, Kejriwal's PwD employees had to surrender and accept our demands. Arvind Kejriwal 's 'sheesh mahal' has been sealed... The whole fiasco needs to be investigated. The current CM was illegally moved to the bungalow. What is the conspiracy behind this? Why wasn't the bungalow handed over to PwD by following protocols... What is Arvind Kejriwal trying to hide in the Sheesh Mahal?”
Sources From LG House Clarify
Sheesh Mahal, 6 Flag Staff Road, is not the CM residence. The owner of this house, like all other Chief Ministers' residences, is the PWD. The PWD takes possession of the house when it is vacant, prepares its inventory, and then duly allows it.
Former CM Kejriwal pretended to vacate the house but did not give possession of it to the PWD. What was he hiding? This house has not yet been allotted to CM Atishi. Her allotted residence is still 17 AB Mathura Road. How did two houses get allotted?
CM Atishi herself kept her belongings in that house without proper allotment and then removed them herself. AAP should not worry; this bungalow will be immediately allotted to the Chief Minister after the proper inventory is prepared.
