Punjab: Bajinder Singh, a self-styled preacher from Punjab facing grave allegations of sexual assault, cheating, manipulation, and criminal intimidation, has now assaulted and threatened Republic reporter for asking him questions. As the self-styled prophet was being produced before the Mohali court, he was confronted by Republic Media Network reporter on the recent charges levelled against him. In a shocking display of intimidation, Singh was seen pushing the reporter and walking away without answering any of the questions.

According to reports, Singh, known for leading the Church of Glory and Wisdom and performing miraculous healings, was slapped with an FIR based on complaints filed by a 22-year-old woman. Singh is accused of sexual harassment. The victim in her complaint said that she along with her parents have been visiting the church since 2017. She has accused the 42-year-old religious preacher of sending her inappropriate messages. She even alleged that, in 2022, Singh made her sit alone in a cabin inside the church, hugged, and touched her inappropriately. She has mentioned that it was due to fear that she couldn’t speak out about the harassment thus far.

The Kapurthala Police has registered cases against Bajinder Singh under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 354 D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. 

Although Bajinder Singh, in a media briefing, dismissed the allegations against him. Calling those charges ‘false’, the religious preacher claimed that the complainant girl was suffering from an ‘evil spirit'. He said that she used experience fits and came to the church for prayer. 

The repeat offender self-styled Christian prophet has been named in several criminal cases in the past. In 2018, he was arrested for allegedly raping a woman from Zirakpur, Punjab, after luring her with false promises of assistance to travel abroad. His aides Jatinder, Akbar Ali, Sitar Ali, Sucha Singh, Rajesh Chaudhary and Sandeep Pehlwan have also been named in the FIR registered under IPC Sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 294 (obscenity), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and Section 67 (transmitting sexually explicit content) of the Information Technology (IT) Act at Zirakpur police station.

Reportedly, Singh is also accused of exploiting a family by claiming he could resurrect their deceased daughter. 

A CCTV footage, which was reportedly recorded in February 2025, showing Bajinder Singh verbally and physically assaulting a man and a woman has gone viral on social media sparking huge uproar. The video shows Singh first hitting a man with a mobile phone and then with a purse. He also slapped another man. The controversial clip shows Singh then attacking a woman who was present at his office with her child. He threw a pile of paper, pushed and slapped her before others intervened.
