Days of 'Corruption', 'Inefficiency' Are Over Now; Capital Expenditure Doubled in Budget to Rs 28,000 Cr

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta presented the Rs 1 lakh crore Budget 2025-26, with Rs 28,000 crore allocated for capital expenditure, doubling last year's amount.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Budget 2025-26 for the national capital on Tuesday, announcing a total budget of Rs 1 lakh crore. Addressing the assembly, she highlighted that Rs 28,000 crore has been allocated for capital expenditure, marking a significant increase from Rs 15,000 crore in the previous budget. CM Gupta said that the era of corruption and inefficiency has ended, and the capital expenditure doubled in the Budget this year.  

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a historic Rs 1 lakh crore budget for this year, marking a 31.5% increase from the previous year. She stated that Rs 5,100 crore has been allocated for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, while Rs 1,000 crore has been set aside to improve infrastructure and connectivity with the NCR region.

BJP Presents First Delhi Budget in Decades: 

This is the first budget presented by a BJP-led government in Delhi in over 26 years, following its recent victory over the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Assembly elections. The Budget Session holds special significance as it comes after the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, which marked the BJP’s return to power after 27 years. 

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government Budget 2024-25: 

Last year, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government presented a Budget of Rs 76,000 crore for 2024-25, which was later increased to Rs 77,000 crore. 

There is a lot of difference between us and them (AAP)... You (AAP) made promises, we will fulfil them. You abused the governments of the other states, we will establish harmony and work together... You made 'Sheesh Mahal', we will build houses for the poor... You installed pot toilets worth lakhs, we will make toilets for the people in slum areas..."
