Hyderabad Student Drowns in Toronto Lake During Birthday Celebration

New Delhi, India: An Indian-origin student drowned in a lake in Toronto on Sunday while celebrating his brother’s birthday. Praneet, a resident of Meerpet in Hyderabad, had been swimming with friends when the incident occurred.

The tragic news was relayed to Praneet's family in Hyderabad by his friends, who were present during the accident. 

Praneet's family has urgently appealed to the Indian government to expedite the process of repatriating his body to Hyderabad.

Authorities in Toronto are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning and further details are awaited.
